Fixx Energy, formerly AESC US LLC, is seeking Manufacturing Technicians (Machine Operators/Production Technicians) to join our team in Smyrna, TN.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Technician at our state-of-the-art battery factory in Smyrna, TN, you will play an essential role in producing energy storage system (ESS) batteries. This position involves operating and maintaining advanced manufacturing equipment in a highly automated, clean, and temperature-controlled production environment.

Schedule

Full-time positions with multiple shifts available:

  • Weekday Shift: Week 1: 4x12 (Mon-Thurs), Week 2: 3x12 (Mon-Wed), shift start at 6:30am
  • Weeknight Shift: Week 1: 4x12 (Mon-Thurs), Week 2: 3x12 (Mon-Wed), shift start at 6:30pm
  • Weekend Day Shift: Week 1: 3x12 (Fri-Sun), Week 2: 4x12 (Thurs, Fri-Sun), shift start at 6:30am
  • Weekend Night Shift: Week 1: 3x12 (Fri-Sun), Week 2: 4x12 (Thurs, Fri-Sun), shift start at 6:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate and monitor automated production equipment to manufacture lithium-ion batteries for EV and ESS applications, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on products to identify and address defects or inconsistencies. Ensure all production meets strict quality specifications and guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on production machinery to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Production Reporting: Accurately document production data, including quantities produced, equipment performance, and any incidents or maintenance actions. Utilize manufacturing software tools to maintain accurate records.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion of production schedules.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and participating in lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

What You Need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required, making this a great opportunity for entry-level candidates. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the automotive, battery, or electronics sectors, is preferred. Experience with machine operation or production line work is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is advantageous. Familiarity with automated production equipment and manufacturing software tools is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail to identify defects and optimize production processes.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative team environment with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new processes, equipment, and technologies in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for documenting production data and collaborating with team members.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks.

What’s Nice To Have:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive, battery, or electronics sectors.
  • Relevant technical certifications or training in manufacturing or mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and implement effective countermeasures.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor, characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers, and suppliers. The role requires performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently and accurately, without causing a significant safety threat to self or others.
