Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hourly production employees.
  • Build strong, interactive teams, foster employee engagement, mentor through listening, coaching, and performance reviews, train and onboard, and reduce employee turnover to achieve plant objectives.
  • Manage daily production and schedule requirements for assigned departments and ensure a consistent flow of work through the department.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and/or habits of area employees, through identification and correction of any safety concerns/issues, safety training, conducting safety audits of the area, and conducting accident investigations for all accidents in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure assigned department achieves quality goals to meet NVR's Brand Promise. Review quality standards and processes regularly and make recommendations on improvements.
  • Support plant leadership with recommendations of improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, quality standards, efficiencies, and safety/working conditions.
  • Partner with plant Maintenance department to ensure production areas are functioning at a high level and minimize downtime.
  • Work with plant support operations, such as Materials, Scheduling and Logistics, to ensure a balanced schedule and consistent flow of material into assigned production area.
  • Determine appropriate staffing needs of the department, manage hourly attendance policy, and ensure accuracy of timekeeping and attendance system.
  • Make recommendations and support plant management in hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions.
  • Resolve employee issues through problem resolution, and conduct employee investigations, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive leadership experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities
  • High energy and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
  • Reliability and initiative to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional team environment
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Ability to travel to other plants and locations, as needed

Pay

The pay range for this position is $X - $Y per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
