Manufacturing Production Supervisor
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
- 1 or more years' experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
- Ability to manage and develop employees.
- Availability & willingness to work hours and holidays.
- Strong skills in Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, monitor, and ensure timely completion of plant goals/action plans, both short and long term.
Utilize new technology and lean manufacturing principals and processes available to maximize efficiency.
Promote development of cost saving initiatives.
This role involves scheduling, task assignment, efficiency monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Develop a work environment within food manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety.
Key attributes for success include leadership, communication, problem-solving, and a meticulous eye for detail.
Leadership is exercised through team motivation and direction, while communication skills aid in instruction delivery and feedback provision, cultivating teamwork.
Problem-solving skills are applied to overcome operational challenges and streamline processes.
Attention to detail is critical in meeting product specifications and quality compliance.
Organizational skills are also vital for resource management, including materials and labor.
A thorough grasp of manufacturing workflows, safety norms, and procedures is expected, along with relevant experience and supervisory background.
The Manufacturing Supervisor's overarching responsibility is to boost productivity, maintain operational efficiency, and ensure seamless manufacturing activities.
Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal and State guidelines
Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)
