About the Role

The Production Supervisor oversees workflow at our facilities, focusing on meeting production goals, quality, safety, people leadership, engagement, and cost objectives. This role involves coaching and developing employees, resolving issues, and serving as the link between the area team and upper management to ensure the plant's overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Performance management of direct reports, including direction setting, accountability, coaching, feedback, performance reviews, development, and training.
  • Monitor the production process using RedZone and engage with the area team on the floor, escalating production issues per criteria and communicating in a timely manner.
  • Plan, organize, and delegate work assignments to meet departmental schedules, optimize manpower and equipment, and achieve OEE efficiencies while striving for continual improvement.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as interviewing potential team members, planning and scheduling, safety reporting, Kronos, and other system entries.
  • Ensure product specifications are met, alert the production manager and quality assurance if product quality is in question, and resolve quality issues through personnel training and enforcement of standards.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects within the supervised area.
  • Attend specified meetings and provide detailed shift handover information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years as a front-line supervisor in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Experience in food manufacturing facilities and knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation practices (helpful).

Work Environment

  • Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day; additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by company policy and legal requirements.
  • May require working outside and/or in adverse temperatures (extreme heat, cold, humidity).
  • Exposure to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes, and food allergens (may include soy, dairy, and other allergens).
  • May require working in confined and dark spaces, at heights in excess of 18 feet, and occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
