Manufacturing Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to support 2nd shift (3:00pm to 1:00am), Monday-Thursday at our manufacturing facility in Sumter, SC. In this role, you will manage and direct Switchboard assembly operations to produce and ship product at minimum cost, in accordance with engineering design specifications, quality standards, customer service goals, and profitability.

You will effectively communicate and work with all levels of plant personnel to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by ensuring compliance with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
• Ensure production demands are met by your department and that team leaders understand their roles in order fulfillment.
• Serve as a central point of contact for management regarding production issues in your functional area.
• Participate in the assessment, selection, training, coaching, and development of employees to foster strong employee performance.
• Foster positive employee relations with direct reports and key stakeholders, promoting a high-performing work team culture.
• Provide direction on daily tasks and resolution of issues to production team members.
• Evaluate workload requirements and delegate tasks to ensure proper and adequate manning to support production needs.
• Manage employees, time records, monitor productivity, and work performance within the team.
• Investigate and solve quality issues or serve as a point of contact for resolving quality concerns.
• Ensure employees understand the importance of quality and enforce follow-through; work with the quality control team to resolve issues and review quality trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Manufacturing, Operations, or Technical processes with a high school diploma.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing people or project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Three years of leadership experience.
• Lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence skills in 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel.
• Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip.
• Frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
