About the role

This position requires a background in aerospace manufacturing with a focus on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and machining large, complex metallic components, with some CNC experience desired. Responsibilities include reviewing customer engineering requirements, creating manufacturing planning and bills of material (BOM), designing tooling/fixtures, and improving manufacturing processes to reduce time while maintaining quality and certification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production to ensure products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
  • Provide feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, cost optimization, and reduced manufacturing time.
  • Prepare engineering changes to support manufacturing and quality of parts produced.
  • Identify new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to achieve zero-defect manufacturing at low product cost.
  • Ensure standardization and compliance with engineering, customer, and company specifications for production processes.
  • Interface directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, and management.
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting existing manufacturing processes to meet customer quality standards and profit objectives.
  • Assist in optimizing manufacturing efficiency and quality through improved processes, materials, methods, and facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Proficient in English reading and writing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and machinery, including NC machine programming.
  • Experience in designing jigs and tooling for final product assembly.
  • Knowledge of materials and metals processing, including heat treat and coatings for aerospace requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic measurement and inspection processes.
  • Experience creating manufacturing planning for product realization.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD documents and interpretation of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standard.
  • Ability to write engineering reports including analysis and results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in groups.
  • CAD experience in CATIA or Pro-E is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products is essential.

Work Environment

  • Medium-to-large office environment.
  • Fast-paced setting with moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to a combination of normal office and manufacturing environments.

Pay

$70,000 - $100,000 per year.
