About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer II at Lozier is responsible for performing various functions including problem-solving, facilitating, change-agent, innovating, resourcefulness, designing, and managing projects. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a preference for mechanical engineering, and at least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by embodying behaviors that drive the company’s success.
  • Completing small to medium-sized projects of moderate complexity with clear goals and concise progress reports.
  • Evaluating needs, analyzing options, developing plans, creating Appropriation Requests (AR), and overseeing project implementation within allocated timeframes.
  • Assisting and guiding support personnel in technical matters as needed.
  • Developing, installing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes for high-quality product production.
  • Creating and providing training on new processes, tools, and equipment, including defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and evaluating processes and equipment.
  • Coordinating corrective actions for production issues using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices.
  • Developing alternative methods or processes to ensure emergency production continuation when necessary.
  • Evaluating alternate solutions using sound engineering economics.
  • Demonstrating regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Working effectively with others.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to develop plans for accomplishing tasks and prioritize work with urgency.
  • Able to make timely decisions.
  • Average to above-average PC skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of machine programming systems.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting/design software such as AutoCAD and Inventor.

Special Demands

  • Ability to travel to other facilities and/or training locations as necessary.
