Manufacturing Engineer II
Job Summary
The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
What You Will Do
- Provide direct engineering support to manufacturing operations
- Perform design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations
- Prepare plans, conduct support studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations
- Participate in the development of manufacturing process plans, test requirements, and manufacturing flow, and capacity plans
- Review detail designs for manufacturability and producibility
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field with 2-5 years applicable engineering experience
- Broad understanding of electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment
- Able to visualize and comprehend manufacturing equipment or tooling problems and understand the interrelationships of factors affecting the situation
- Leverage Lean/Six-Sigma experience/training/certification
- Interpersonal and communication skills needed to positively influence production processes
- Detail oriented with a desire to be hands-on
