Primary duties
- Lead the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and production workflows to improve efficiency and safety.
- Analyze production data and process performance to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with product design, quality, and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with production capabilities.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Support the introduction of new products and technologies into manufacturing by coordinating trials, validations, and training.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, equipment, and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Manufacturing Engineer I and other team members.
- Participate in cross-functional projects focused on lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all engineering activities.
Requirements
- Requires a four-year ABET-accredited degree in engineering or an equivalent technical degree in applied sciences; 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role within the HVAC or a similar industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies.

- Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.

- This role requires a balance of technical analysis and hands-on engagement with production operations.
- The engineer must be able to manage complex projects while maintaining attention to detail and safety.
- Able to communicate effectively in written and spoken form.
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
- Periodic visits to the manufacturing floor with exposure to seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fumes.
Work Environment
- The Manufacturing Engineer II works in both office and production environments, requiring flexibility and a strong safety mindset.
- Work is performed in a combination of office and factory settings.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on the production floor.
- Regular collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams.
- This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
- Compliance with all company safety and operational policies is mandatory.
