Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations, improve cost, yield, productivity, and reduce waste, scrap, and downtime.
  • Use data analytics techniques to identify areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate product quality using stereo microscopes or other test equipment to verify operator workmanship or determine the root cause of process or yield issues.
  • Diagnose process and equipment issues and work with maintenance teams to keep equipment running optimally.
  • Analyze, optimize, or develop visual and test equipment/methods for the evaluation of electro-optical devices.
  • Interface with external customers regarding testing methodology.
  • Work with and train bargaining-unit employees to improve work processes and product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, preferably Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to perform self-directed work as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience developing electrical test methods.
  • Experience with Visual Studio programming languages (C, C++, C#, VB, Python).
