About the role

We are seeking a Manual Machinist for our Stafford, TX facility to join our Aftermarket team. This role focuses on complete repairs of customer equipment in the Service Center, contributing to goals in EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and horizontal boring mills on diverse workpieces.
  • Lay out work and produce quality parts from sketches, blueprints, or engineering details.
  • Assist in establishing setup methods, order of operations, and material requirements.
  • Carry jobs from raw materials to finished products using drawings, sketches, samples, or verbal instructions.
  • Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools.
  • Inspect and check parts during production.
  • Maintain accurate production records and job history.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and assist in setting up complex machines.
  • Stack, mark, pack, and transport finished products.
  • Work at different stations as required and maintain a clean, orderly workspace.
  • Operate manual and automated cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all safety and environmental directives, including wearing proper PPE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Work Environment

  • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach overhead and work in various positions (stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting).
  • Lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Work with minimum supervision to resolve complex issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–3 years of experience in machining; 3+ years preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials.
  • Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Reciprocating compressor experience is a plus.
