Roles and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes to machine parts to required tolerances
- Operate press brake to bend, form, and shape metal components
- Use plate rolls/rollers to form cylindrical or curved parts
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure equipment is in safe working condition
- Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency
- Deburr, grind, and finish parts as needed
- Light assembly work for industrial machines
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years of experience operating manual machining equipment (lathe required)
- Years of hands-on mechanical or assembly experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes
- Experience with precision measuring tools
- Experience with press brake and/or rolling equipment preferred
- Proficiency with wrenches, prybars, high-pressure cleaning equipment, power tools, overhead cranes, and fork trucks
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and prints
- Physically able to work in an industrial shop environment, including lifting and moving heavy parts (with or without assistance)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to take accurate measurements and complete records
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a commitment to safety
