Managing Consultant – Clinical Performance Improvement (Nursing) – Healthcare
About the role
The Managing Consultant at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) in the Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice provides strategic advisory support to healthcare providers, payers, investors, and other stakeholders. They partner with organizations to drive sustainable performance improvement and long-term growth through various services including business transformation, margin and operational improvement, quality improvement, clinical care optimization, and AI and digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Engage in small projects within their expertise, serving as an engagement director.
- Assist project workstream(s) under the direction of the project workstream/pilar or serve as the SME if in their core-knowledge area.
- Support the development of client processes and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor and provide feedback on implemented workstreams.
- Present to clients and executives to advance project deliverables.
- Create client-facing materials such as slide decks.
- Lead performance improvement work teams towards developing future-state processes.
- Manage and mentor junior staff.
- Submit expense reports and engage in professional development.
- Contribute to the advancement of the firm through participation in work teams and task forces.
- Lead and manage projects in other service lines as needed.
- Develop thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
- At least 6+ years of experience in clinical performance improvement consulting or 10+ years of industry experience in a relevant role with relevant licensure/certification(s).
- A Bachelor's degree in health or a related field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent training/experience; a Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Candidates without a Master's degree must enroll in a Master's program and earn their degree within three years of being hired.
- Board certification(s) preferred in the area of subject matter expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in data analytics and benchmarking tools.
- Credibility as a subject matter expert in a specific domain of expertise.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, and client management skills.
- Expanded operational knowledge of inpatient nursing, including care models, standards of care across varying inpatient levels, and effective resource utilization.
- Strong expertise in workforce and productivity infrastructure, including census and workload variability management, skill-mix methodologies, workforce planning tools, and staffing to demand strategies.
- Proven change management skills to guide stakeholders through process redesign and workflow transformation.
- Able to interface effectively with client's nursing and labor initiative leaders.
- Experience participating in inpatient nursing initiatives and leading smaller initiatives to drive process efficiencies and operational excellence.
Pay
Salary range: $120,000 - $165,000. Job title and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
