About the role

The Managing Consultant at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) specializes in consulting healthcare providers, payers, investors, and other stakeholders. They partner with organizations to drive sustainable performance improvement and long-term growth through various strategies such as strategic growth design, operating model transformation, AI and digital enablement, clinical quality and patient care optimization, and revenue strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex performance improvement projects within their expertise pillar, overseeing project teams and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive client value through advanced analytics, industry expertise, and strategic recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects, contribute to business development, and staff development initiatives.
  • Travel consistently (80%) depending on project requirements and client expectations.
  • Independently meet with clients and executives to advance project deliverables.
  • Create client-facing materials including slide decks and other materials.
  • Develop and implement client deliverables created by self or a SME.
  • Lead performance improvement work teams towards developing future-state processes.
  • Submit complete, accurate, and on-time expense reports and time entry.
  • Participate in work teams, task forces, and advancement of the firm.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications in place at the time of assuming the role.
  • Willing to work in other service lines as directed/assigned.
  • Develop thought leadership that advances self and BRG’s brand in thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • Either 6+ years of experience in clinical performance improvement consulting or 10+ years of industry experience in a relevant role with relevant licensure/certification(s), including at least five years of industry experience in a relevant director-level leadership (e.g. Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or experience in a health system performance improvement department with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)).
  • Bachelor's Degree required in health or related field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent training/experience; Masters Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Candidates without a Masters Degree must enroll in a Masters program and earn their degree within three years of being hired into the role.
  • Board Certification(s) preferred in area of subject matter expertise.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and benchmarking tools.
  • Credible as a subject matter expert in specific domain of expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and client management skills.
  • Expanded operational knowledge of care management, proper status assignment, portal of entry management, patient placement, throughput processes, discharge barrier mitigation, and post acute care.
  • Ability to interface with the client’s clinical and ancillary leaders.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions to align with process improvement.
  • Expected to actively participate in Throughput initiatives and independently lead smaller initiatives to enhance process improvement initiatives.

Pay

$120,000 - $165,000
