Managing Consultant, Clinical and Operational Improvement
About the role
The Guidehouse Commercial Healthcare Payer/Provider Advisory candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in performance improvement within Hospitals, Health Plans or Physician Groups. The Managing Consultant will work directly with clients to measurably improve their operational outcomes through a mix of workflow redesign strategies, improvement in resource utilization and reduction in variation in care.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients to measurably improve their operational outcomes through a mix of workflow redesign strategies, improvement in resource utilization and reduction in variation in care.
- Leverage a deep understanding of health system and ambulatory operational best practices supported by data.
- Drive financial, clinical and operational improvement at client provider organizations through a combination of data and business process analysis, project management, and deliverable creation.
- Become a recognized, credible, and trusted partner to our clients with subject matter expertise in at least one of our solution areas and business acumen.
Requirements
- Curiosity and enthusiasm with client and Guidehouse teams to assess and implement improvement opportunities relevant in the client environment.
- Conduct relevant research, perform complex analytics on large data sets, and draw conclusions / make relevant recommendations based on analyses performed.
- Clearly articulate financial results of projects and speak about process and sub-process measures for more than one area.
- Establish account management relationships with key client counterparts.
- Identify key industry issues and assist to develop practice response.
- Absolutely ensure high quality work by taking advantage of learning opportunities and self-motivated.
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership role with physicians, clinicians, administrators, colleagues, and fellow Guidehouse resources.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 4-6+ years’ relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous consulting or health system leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of technology, tools and use of AI in client environments.

- Strong client leadership skills and ability to assist in selling add-on work and recognize business development opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in challenging situations and remain a good teammate.
- Demonstrated ability leading successful teams and managing through conflict.
- Ability to complete projects with attention to detail on tight timelines.
Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $102,000.00-$170,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
