Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sophisticated tax engagements for High Net Worth individuals, families, family offices, trusts, and closely held businesses
- Review and oversee preparation of complex Individual, Partnership, Trust, Gift, and Estate tax returns
- Serve as primary relationship manager and trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients and multigenerational families
- Provide strategic tax planning related to income tax, estate & gift tax, wealth transfer, trusts, and business succession planning
- Advises clients on tax-efficient investment structures, partnerships, pass-through entities, and philanthropic planning strategies
- Manage and mentor tax staff, seniors, and managers while fostering professional development and technical growth
- Research and interpret complex federal, state, and local tax issues and communicate findings to clients and leadership
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, wealth advisors, bankers, and other external advisors on integrated planning initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve client tax positions, reduce liabilities, and enhance long-term wealth preservation strategies
- Participate in business development activities including networking, referral generation, and expanding existing client relationships
- Oversee engagement workflow, budgeting, staffing, and deadlines to ensure exceptional client service delivery
- Stay current on evolving tax legislation, regulatory changes, and industry trends impacting high-net-worth taxpayers
- Support firm growth initiatives and contribute to strategic leadership discussions at the Partner level
Qualifications
- CPA required; MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation preferred
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience with significant HNW client exposure
- Deep experience with Individual, Partnership/K-1, Trust, Gift, and Estate tax matters
- Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and lead advisory discussions
- Strong technical tax research, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience developing business and cultivating referral networks preferred
