Feeding Tampa Bay serves ten counties in West Central Florida and is a leader in hunger relief across the region. Last year, we served 85 million meals to neighbors through direct service and a network of 400+ food pantry partners. We aim to create pathways to possibilities for nearly 1 million people, connecting and convening solutions, partners, and resources that nourish long-term stability.
About the role
The s’well Manager will lead the s’well (Senior Wellness) program, designed to bring comprehensive support and health into the lives of seniors. This role spearheads day-to-day operations and strategic growth of the program, leads cross-functional project communication, and supervises s’well Navigators. The program helps seniors navigate social services, access resources, and reduce challenges caused by financial crisis, empowering them toward a brighter, healthier future.
Responsibilities
- Drive programmatic expansion by identifying emerging needs within the local senior community and developing targeted interventions or new service offerings.
- Centralize connections between services provided in the Empowerment Center and food resources available at Community Place and within the 10-county region.
- Lead, plan, and organize annual program enrollment from development and promotion through execution.
- Collaborate with Neighbor Services Leadership to manage logistics and communication for s’well partner classes.
- Develop curriculum for and facilitate FTB-led educational classes for neighbors.
- Oversee day-to-day execution of the s’well+ program, including enrollment, transportation, resource connection, and on-site flow to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate client records of neighbor engagement in documentation and appointment systems; report data as required by FTB’s Data and Impact team.
- Provide backup support to all Neighbor Services navigators and managers as needed for program success.
- Ensure exceptional customer service so neighbors feel welcome and have a positive experience.
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and training to program staff, fostering a collaborative and empathetic team culture.
- Support Neighbor Services leadership in the strategic growth of senior-specific programming.
- Serve as the primary ambassador for the s’well program, communicating regularly with the Neighbor Food Programs Manager, Transportation Manager, and drivers for day-to-day operations.
- Act as the point of contact for s’well partnerships and off-site referral partners, supporting strategic growth and program evolution.
- Manage the s’well email, phone line, and voicemail, ensuring enrolled seniors receive accurate and timely updates.
- Collaborate with helpline and neighborhood teams to provide seniors with the most accurate and updated program information.
- Work with internal teams and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care.
- Stay informed about community resources and services; update the Neighbor Services Resource Database as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for volunteer questions and concerns, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
- Stay current on internal processes, trends, resources, and policies affecting senior services and aging populations.
- Participate in outreach events, workshops, and trainings to promote services and build community connections.
- Create a safe environment for neighbors, volunteers, and team members by practicing environmental awareness and implementing safety policies.
- Uphold client confidentiality and privacy standards at all times.
- Actively participate in team meetings, case staffings, and debriefs.
- Cross-train to provide support in various Neighbor Experience areas, including market shopping, Neighborhood Coordination, Navigation, community events, helpline coverage, and follow-up calls.
- Serve as a first responder during natural disasters, supporting community distributions, emergency hotline coverage, and triage services.
- Represent Neighbor Services programs internally and externally to the highest standard.
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture for neighbors, volunteers, and peers within Neighbor Services.
- Embody FTB’s mission and Grow Code in all interactions.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisor and Neighbor Services Leadership on issues related to neighbor services and community programs.
- Occasionally represent Feeding Tampa Bay at community events and meetings.
- Participate in Community Place late-night manager coverage rotation.
- Assist other Feeding Tampa Bay staff on special projects.
- Commit to upholding policies, principles, and best practices for food safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 4+ years’ experience in social work, human services, counseling, public health, case management, or a related field.
- Previous experience supervising a team.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Experience working in low-income, culturally diverse community settings and understanding of challenges faced when individuals and families seek assistance.
- Knowledge and experience with homeless or housing-insecure populations is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, especially in phone and in-person communication.
- Knowledge of aging-related issues, benefits programs, and community resources; experience providing case management or direct service to older adults strongly preferred.
- Experience working in high-stress environments, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, active listening, and motivational interviewing.
- Ability to independently oversee multiple projects, improve programs, and coordinate smoothly while maintaining a collaborative work style.
- Comfortable with public speaking, including giving group presentations and training workshops to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to handle and document deliverables and data from several sources; spreadsheet skills are a must.
- Ability to work constructively with individuals from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in culturally diverse environments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and Asana (experience a plus).
- Occasional travel required within the 10-county service region.
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to actively participate in mission-driven programs, such as food distribution initiatives and disaster relief operations.
- All internal candidates must be in good standing with no corrective actions within the last 90 days.
Pay
$58,100 - $59,840
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; some evenings and weekends may be required.
