About the role
The Assistant Manager is a critical part of the restaurant management team, ensuring exceptional service and delicious food in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Assistant Manager performs all management duties, including inventory, ordering, scheduling, interviewing, and supervising each shift to deliver an exceptional Guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, coach, and train team members to ensure operational execution.
- Drive sales and repeat Guest visits by taking ownership of the guest experience.
- Ensure Guest satisfaction by following the Six Service Standards and PLUS 1 as needed.
- Complete weekly inventory duties alongside the General Manager.
- Interview candidates and provide hiring recommendations or complete the hiring process for selected team members.
- Apply progressive discipline and document team member relations to uphold company policies, procedures, and values.
- Work with the General Manager to provide performance reviews and coaching to team members.
- Place, check in, and store orders correctly and safely; enter invoices and receive orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of team members and shift leaders.
- Write team member schedules for GM review and assign additional daily, weekly, and monthly duties as needed.
- Perform opening and closing managerial duties, including readiness checklists and cash handling.
- Handle Guest issues or conflicts and report them to the General Manager immediately.
- Place daily orders as needed and actively engage in company communication through email and shift notes.
- Lead as a standards bearer and promote a culture of teamwork and caring.
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager regarding essential information impacting the business.
Requirements
- Must be a team player who works well with others.
- Positive energy with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours consecutively.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; some lifting may be overhead.
- Must have reliable transportation.
