Manager, Strategic Account Management- Walmart Data Ventures
About the role
Walmart Data Ventures is focused on productizing Walmart’s rich data assets to better serve customers and provide data products that deliver actionable, customer-centric insights to help merchants and brands make better business decisions. We are hiring talent across our Account Management Teams to help drive business growth by developing and maintaining business relationships—both internally with Walmart Merchandising and externally with our supplier subscribers. The ideal candidate will understand and manage mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits while supporting engagement and dialogue with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and realize business objectives. This role requires the ability to influence and persuade across a wide range of teams within Walmart and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Concurrently manage multiple relationships expeditiously and efficiently.
- Orchestrate collaborative work plans with 3rd party consultants, merchants, operations, and suppliers to recognize supplier and Walmart value and ROI from product investments.
- Capture and package success stories, case studies, and examples of insights derived from products.
- Provide the voice of the client to the product team with a supplier and merchant mindset.
- Build and manage cross-functional relationships with key Walmart partners to power business growth.
- Identify, nurture, close, and renew key partnership or client opportunities in a B2B setting; own the full lifecycle of supplier engagement, deal-making, and implementation.
Requirements
- Analytic skill set and technical aptitude with the ability to simplify complex datasets for customers.
- Experience driving execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand, communicate, and manage mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits.
- Strategic thinker comfortable with long-term planning and tough decision-making.
- Track record of developing inventive solutions for major problems and opportunities.
- Familiarity with the retail ecosystem.
Preferred Experience
- Working with Beverage or Direct Store Delivery (DSD) suppliers or distributors.
- Experience at a 3rd party data or insights supplier.
- Merchant experience in analytics, insights, or operations at a national retailer.
- Proficiency with Retail Link, SQL, or Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Leading cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, business, marketing and sales, healthcare, or related area and 2 years’ experience in business management, marketing and sales, healthcare, omni-channel merchandising, or related area.
- Option 2: 4 years’ experience in business management, marketing and sales, healthcare, omni-channel merchandising, or related area.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in business, marketing and sales, healthcare, or related area.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include stock for certain positions.
