About the Role
The RN Manager oversees activities, workflow, and nursing resources on a 9 North Medical Surgical unit, designed for short-stay observation patients requiring rapid bed turnover.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Hire, train, develop, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting patient care delivery.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure efficient healthcare services.
- Monitor and manage the unit's budget and expenditures.
- Maintain safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Minimum of two years’ RN experience with leadership responsibilities or one year RN experience plus leadership experience.
- Licenses and certifications include BLS (AHA) and RN licensure in the relevant state (requirements vary by location).
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, standing, walking, and data entry.
