About the Department/Unit
Join a cohesive and inclusive nursing team dedicated to excellence in patient-centered care on our 34-bed Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. This environment supports the development of critical care skills and serves as a foundational steppingstone for careers in Intermediate Care (IMC), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and beyond. Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care and nursing personnel on the unit.
- Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan and vision.
- Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determine and justify needs for systems, equipment, and supplies; monitor usage and ensure proper working order.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current state RN license.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Five years in an acute care facility preferred; three years in leadership required.
