Manager: Retail Operations

About the role

This position manages the day-to-day operations of two retail/rental stores: Vail Sports V21 and Breeze Lionshead. Key responsibilities include generating sales, managing staff, controlling inventory, and maintaining store appearance.

Responsibilities

• Generate sales and demonstrate professional guest service
• Evaluate sales trends and develop strategies for growth
• Manage and meet labor and operational budgets
• Oversee inventory control and meet or exceed inventory goals
• Enforce company policies and procedures, including cash handling and loss prevention
• Train staff on POS, product knowledge, guest service, resort information, and sales
• Conduct performance appraisals and coach staff development
• Maintain all company paperwork and safety standards
• Communicate ideas or issues with the Regional Manager
• Stay current on industry products and trends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years of retail experience
• A minimum of 2 years of management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
• Organizational and planning skills
• Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment
• Team-building skills
• Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems (preferred)

Pay and Schedule

The starting wage is $57,784.00 - $71,664.00 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 3 years of retail experience, and a minimum of 2 years of management experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and excellent communication skills are required. Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems is preferred.
