Manager, Quality Assurance

About the role

The Manager of Quality Assurance oversees Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, and Document Control operations at the Winston Salem, NC facility. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, managing quality documentation, overseeing raw materials, and leading investigations into quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations of Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, and Document Control
• Interpret and implement regulatory requirements and standards
• Manage quality documentation related to product batch records, deviations, and change controls
• Ensure facility compliance with GMPs, including temperature, humidity, and cleaning log maintenance
• Approve deviations and quality-related documents requiring management review
• Investigate and close problem reports and nonconformance reports
• Run CAPA and SCAR programs
• Prepare and provide updates to senior leadership
• Mentor and train staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 7+ years working for a food, supplement, or cosmetic company
• 5+ years manufacturing operation experience
• Extensive knowledge of GMPs, FDA regulations, and documentation procedures
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage QA functions and programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Coaching and mentoring skills - team development
• cGMP proficiency
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field
