Responsibilities
- Manage and drive the preparation of proposals.
- Coordinate input and gather insights from multiple sources, including pricing, legal professionals, legal project management, and competitive intelligence.
- Develop and manage relationships and work collaboratively with business development peers in practice areas, sectors, and client teams.
- Provide project management support and information resources to ensure strategic and panel responses are completed efficiently, consistently, and professionally.
- Write, edit, and manage up-to-date practice and experience descriptions and copy.
- Support the auditing of existing materials to evaluate strategy and create new copy and approaches as appropriate.
- Update and maintain the opportunities module tracking system and assist in the creation of leadership reports.
- Coordinate directly with partners and key stakeholders of the firm.
- Collaborate with colleagues on a global level for inter-region and panel opportunities.
- Prepare placemats and client presentations, as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience working in proposals functions. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services setting highly preferred.
- Strong research and writing skills, as well as superior proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Strong professional presence, comfortable interacting and collaborating with lawyers, other professionals, and staff within the firm.
- Diplomacy, enthusiasm, and perseverance.
- Self-starter who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing solutions.
- Ability to liaise confidently and build relationships with people at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel functions); experience with PERSUIT and experience management systems a plus.
Pay
The full-time base annual salary ranges for this position in the following markets are expected to be:
- Chicago, Illinois, and Minneapolis, Minnesota: $105,000 – $151,000
- Washington, District of Columbia: $140,000 – $160,000
- New York: $145,000 – $180,000
Compensation in other markets may vary based on local market data. Bonus opportunities are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
