This role sits within the Corporate Partnerships (CP) team in Advancement, managing relationships with companies that support animal welfare through product sales, marketing, employee giving, and other engagement opportunities.

About the role

The Manager, Partnerships will actively support a portfolio of corporate partnerships by reviewing and managing marketing materials and contractual commitments, assisting the Director and Vice President as needed. This role is also responsible for crafting, organizing, and preparing communications and stewardship materials for all corporate partners, as well as managing the department’s internal communications strategy. Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and attention to detail are critical for success.

The Manager reports directly to the Director, Partnerships and has no direct reports.

Where and when you’ll work

  • Hybrid position requiring occasional days at the ASPCA’s 8th Avenue location in New York City.
  • In-person team meetings approximately once per week and department meetings about four times per year.
  • Some partner and/or nonprofit-related travel (up to 10%).
  • Attendance required at in-person partner meetings approximately five times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Independence Pet Group (IPG) and Other Corporate Partnerships Support
    • Assist the Director and Vice President with managing the IPG relationship, a $5M+ annual partnership, including planning and participating in partner meetings, conducting industry research, analyzing new partnership opportunities, and creating business presentations.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to review weekly marketing collateral for ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, ensuring legal compliance, alignment with ASPCA medical counsel, and brand standards.
    • Manage long-term partner accounts (e.g., BuzzRx, Citi Thank You Rewards, EHD, CITM) by anticipating partner needs, aligning interests with the ASPCA’s mission, and identifying engagement opportunities.
    • Oversee a growing portfolio of partnerships as accounts transition from Business Development to the Partnerships team.
    • Maintain accurate records of partnership deliverables and interactions in account files and the department database.
  • Department Communications
    • Develop, maintain, and refine partner and prospect mass communications plans to ensure timely, consistent, and engaging messaging aligned with partner interests.
    • Oversee the CP team’s internal communications, including regular department updates and partnership announcements.
    • Create and produce a welcome package for new partners and points of contact in coordination with Business Development.
    • Develop post-campaign partner recap presentations highlighting performance metrics and partnership impact.
    • Use tools like Canva, PowerPoint, Airtable, and email marketing systems to track and produce engaging content, including narrative writing, infographics, and visuals.
    • Schedule external meetings as needed and create department presentations in collaboration with the VP of Corporate Partnerships.
    • Craft department meeting agendas and compile notes for attendees.
    • Stay informed about ASPCA’s national programs and initiatives to support accurate and compelling partner communications.
  • Partner Stewardship
    • Coordinate with the Manager of Philanthropy to develop high-quality stewardship materials, such as quarterly newsletters, updates, invitations, and impact reports.
    • Assist with administering the Subaru Loves Pets grants program, including organizing and creating impact reports for over 600+ participating retailers.
    • Coordinate logistics for partner facility tours and immersive experiences.
    • Maintain accurate distribution lists for ASPCA Action mailings (twice per year).
    • Manage the ordering and delivery of year-end appreciation gifts for all active partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and partner engagement strategies.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of related experience in general administrative skills and account management.
  • Ability to understand and align with the ASPCA’s mission, strategy, programs, policies, and values.
  • Strong ability to maintain positive working relationships with employees, department staff, and the public.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience developing presentations, reports, newsletters, marketing materials, or other stakeholder-facing content.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, design software (e.g., Canva), and project management tools (e.g., Airtable, Monday.com).
  • Demonstrates care and concern for the safety and well-being of self, animals, and others, especially in stressful situations.
  • Ability to coordinate work across teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to exemplify ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four or more years of related experience in general administrative skills and account management.
  • Experience developing or reviewing partner-facing communications, presentations, stewardship materials, marketing collateral, impact reports, or similar external-facing content.
  • Experience coordinating work across internal teams and external stakeholders to manage deliverables, timelines, approvals, or partner commitments.
  • Experience supporting corporate partnerships, cause marketing, sponsorships, employee engagement, or nonprofit fundraising relationships is preferred.
  • English language proficiency (required).

Pay

The target hiring range for this role is $72,000 - $77,000. Starting pay depends on factors including education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands, or budgeted amount. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience.
