About the Role
The Operations Manager oversees daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations, including product receiving, replenishment, order selection, loading, facility expense and revenue management. The role ensures adherence to company policies and government regulations while maintaining superior customer service and facility safety and security.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily workload and safety of Warehouse Supervisors and associates.
- Review and set priorities to ensure orders are correct, complete, and leave on time for excellent customer service.
- Manage the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets to support warehouse operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently.
- Proactively anticipate and meet or exceed workload demands.
- Establish and implement processes to meet inventory management goals and improve service levels.
- Suggest efficiency ideas and cost-reduction measures for inbound and outbound operations.
- Identify problems and propose solutions to management while promoting inter-departmental cooperation.
- Review shipping and loading audits daily to ensure accurate documentation and proper material handling.
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities align with safety strategies.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Direct, coordinate, and monitor daily team activities to ensure compliance with company policies, quality, and safety standards.
- Coach and develop a team to balance productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain a positive and safe work environment.
- Oversee employee relations, including staff selection, performance evaluations, corrective action, and terminations.
- Establish performance goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
- Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
- Provide or coordinate training as needed.
- Consult with the Human Resources Department as appropriate.
- Conduct regular department meetings to foster engagement, communicate policy changes, and address employee concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required or 10+ years of equivalent education and experience.
- 5-7 years of related operations and management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to operate office and warehouse equipment.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Primarily works in a warehouse environment with exposure to wet/humid conditions, cold or elevated temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
- Moderate noise level and fast-paced environment.
- Approximately 10% travel may be required for visits to other warehouses, distribution centers, customer meetings, company events, or training sessions.
- May require the use of a personal vehicle for business travel, including long periods of sitting.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of current automobile insurance.
- May require evening, weekend, or shift work depending on business needs.
