Manager of Social Services

About the role

The Manager of Social Services oversees the Behavioral Health departments, ensuring coordination of services provided to patients through supervision, management, and direct provision of patient care services in various areas such as Inpatient Social Services, Activity Therapy, Outpatient PHP/IOP, and Intake services. This position requires adherence to legal, organizational, medical staff, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, define, and coordinate clinical services necessary to meet legal, organizational, medical staff, and regulatory agency guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Supervise and manage social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and department operations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and improve outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care services as needed, demonstrating expertise in clinical social work.
• Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Coordinate referrals and transitions between inpatient and outpatient services.
• Participate in performance evaluations and professional development activities for staff members.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work - required
• Acute care experience - preferred (LCSW)
• Clinical Social Worker - required
• BLS - required
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) - required
• 3+ years of applicable experience
• 1+ years of leadership experience
