Manager Nursing Med Surg Tele FT McAllen

Qualifications

• 2 years previous RN experience in same or similar unit(s) required or 1 year previous RN experience in same or similar unit(s) within an STHS facility.
• 1-3 years previous supervisory experience required.
• Willingness to be cross-trained to other unit areas.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.

  Education / Licensure

  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or Bachelor’s in related field) on hire or current Managers will be enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion no later than July 1, 2020; internal promotions will enroll into BSN program within 6 months of transition to Manager’s role.
  • Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
  • Must have and maintain current certifications, according to unit specific needs.
  • Must pass the Medication/Respiratory/Assessment within 3 months of coming to the department with a grade of 90 or greater.

  Skills

  Familiar with basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the TX Nurse Practice Act.

  Membership in related professional organization preferred.
