About the role
The Manager, Nursing at Connections Health Solutions leads nursing services and clinical support staff in a 24/7/365 facility. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with organizational policies and regulatory standards. The Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and supports budget stewardship through effective staffing and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction, and operational oversight for nursing services and clinical support staff.
- Ensures all nursing practice complies with established protocols, evidence-based practices, and regulatory standards.
- Maintains effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, community partners, and organizational leadership.
- Oversees staffing schedules, attendance, overtime utilization, and staffing adjustments to ensure safe patient care while meeting budgetary expectations.
- Recruits, interviews, hires in the selection of nursing personnel.
- Conducts performance evaluations, establishes performance expectations, provides coaching and corrective action, and recognizes employee achievements.
- Supports employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing is required.
- 5 years of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience.
- 2-4 years of nursing leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of practice requirements of RN/LPN scope of practice as outlined in the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing Professional Nursing Law.
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing and interventions and clinical knowledge base.
- Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) must be obtained within seven days of hire.
- Knowledge of practice requirements of RN/LPN scope of practice as outlined in the State of Virginia Practice Act.
- Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Qualifications
- Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with the 302 involuntary commitment process is preferred.
