About the role
The Manager, Market Access and Reimbursement will support the Market Access and Reimbursement department to ensure patients can access Arthrex’s best-in-class orthopedic technologies. This role serves as the primary reimbursement expert for the field, assisting the Director with company strategies related to field reimbursement initiatives, including HCP engagement, support, and communication. The position collaborates with Sales, Product Management, and Strategic Development teams to improve patient access.
Responsibilities
- Educate and train Arthrex’s Sales team and agencies on all aspects of US reimbursement (coding, coverage, payment, and contracting) for the product portfolio through in-person, virtual, and on-demand interactions.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and Regulatory teams to anticipate market needs and develop customer-facing tools, economic models, and tactical reimbursement elements to maximize patient access.
- Partner with Sales and Sales leadership to plan and prioritize key customer visits (virtual and in-person) to provide education and deliver value-based messages that drive patient access.
- Develop and implement reimbursement, market access, and value-based strategies aligned with commercial objectives to promote broader patient access.
- Build and support relationships with local physician champions to facilitate interactions with payers and intermediaries.
- Travel up to 40%.
- Ensure compliance within the functional area and support the organization’s compliance objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare delivery/administration, healthcare insurance, or the medical device industry.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience in orthopedic medical devices desired but not required.
- Prior field reimbursement experience in medical devices desired but not required.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus.
- Detailed knowledge of medical device billing, coding (e.g., CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10), payer coverage requirements, prior authorization, claim submission, adjudication, and appeals processes.
- Knowledge of US healthcare policy, payment systems, and contracting methodologies, including Medicare and commercial payers across inpatient/outpatient, physician office, and ASC/HOPD sites of service.
- Ability to train sales teams on coding, coverage, reimbursement, and contracting concepts in an engaging and credible manner.
- Demonstrated responsiveness, urgency, and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and adapting to ambiguity in a rapidly changing atmosphere.
- High customer service orientation with strong interpersonal skills to influence business objectives at all organizational levels.
- Ability to prioritize and implement multiple workstreams for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Account management and customer service skills, including CRM (e.g., Salesforce) experience.
- Computer literacy (remote connectivity, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Ability to travel throughout the U.S. via plane, train, or vehicle.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-leading analytics/business intelligence software.
