Manager, Intellectual Property - Disputes, Claims & Investigations
About the role
Lead or co-lead intellectual property engagements, overseeing and participating in research, modeling, and financial and economic analysis. Develop and mentor team members, and support their professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Work with engagement leaders to strategize engagement approaches, develop workplans, oversee and monitor progress, and report on critical path items.
- Oversee and participate in company, industry, and case-specific research, including technical, economic, accounting, and market research, to support analyses, assumptions, and conclusions.
- Analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents to identify critical insights across multiple engagements.
- Review, organize, and analyze case documentation, testimony, and court filings to identify the information that matters for the analysis.
- Afford assistance with drafting expert reports and preparing analyses primarily related to patent, copyright, and trademark infringement, as well as trade secret misappropriation matters across diverse industries and technologies.
- Afford assistance with the management of client relationships and serve as an important point of contact for client communications.
- Help build and expand the team’s use of emerging AI tools to enhance research, analysis, and document workflows while maintaining accuracy and reliability.
Requirements
- A 4-year undergraduate degree with a concentration in economics, finance, mathematics and/or accounting.
- 3-6 years of relevant professional experience in damages quantification, preferably related to intellectual property disputes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly convey ideas.
- Strong analytical and technical skills in finance, economics, and/or accounting with the ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents.
- Significant experience assisting with the preparation of expert reports and supporting analyses.
- Team management experience is a welcome plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Openness to and curiosity about thoughtfully integrating AI tools into the engagement workflow.
