Manager in Training (Full Time)

About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Store Manager in setting and achieving departmental and overall store goals.
• Assist in inventory management, sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Ensure profitability in all departments by monitoring inventory movement and customer trends.
• Communicate with the Store Manager about the status of the store and maintain quality customer service.
• Perform general administrative duties and be trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
• Offer exceptional customer service, including greeting customers and handling multiple customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell merchandise while upholding company policies and procedures.
• Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
