About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Manager in Training assumes full responsibility of the store, guides employees, and ensures quality customer service.
Responsibilities
- Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Monitors inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to maintain profitability in all departments.
- Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Updates the Store Manager on inventory movements and customer trends.
- Ensures quality customer service is maintained.
- Performs general administrative duties as needed and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Provides extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
- Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Complies with all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protects the company’s assets and financial information through accurate internal control procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
- A self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.
- A team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
