Manager, Field Reimbursement Services

The Manager, Field Reimbursement Services leads a team of field-based reimbursement managers and oversees day-to-day operations of a field reimbursement program sourced by a pharmaceutical manufacturer client. The primary objective is to hire, develop, coach, evaluate, and lead the reimbursement team to successfully engage specialty physician offices and support the manufacturer customer.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of field-based reimbursement specialists who provide in-office reimbursement and patient support services in assigned territories.
- Administer all administrative, training, and performance management duties for the team, including weekly 1:1s, weekly team meetings, monthly check-ins, quarterly performance surveys, and monthly QA audits of FRM activity.
- Serve as the liaison between the field team and home office counterparts, establishing weekly meetings with the client and operations team to ensure consistent expectations and two-way communication.
- Disseminate client direction across the remote team, lead regular team teleconferences, and conduct quarterly ride-alongs with individual team members for ongoing training and development.
- Drive field operations efficiencies and innovative ideas to enhance the Field Reimbursement Program, executing assigned projects and ensuring all SLA and contractual commitments are met.
- Ensure team adherence to all applicable privacy and compliance obligations as defined in the Rules of Engagement document.
- Monitor SLA adherence using FRM SFDC reporting and make staffing and process changes if SLA is not being met.
- Partner with the client’s Head of Reimbursement Operations to execute strategic initiatives and manage day-to-day team activities and reporting to McKesson Client Services and key client contacts.
- Manage client expectations regarding service delivery and provide proactive consultative services on process improvement, revenue-generating, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in preparation of and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews to the client, outlining opportunities for enhancement, growth, and efficiency.
- Oversee FRM development by partnering with FRMs to establish at least two development opportunities to support career paths, including ongoing training and educational opportunities such as payer education, conferences, mentorships, billing and coding, and My Learning courses.
Requirements
- 6+ years of reimbursement experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Critical requirements:
- Experience supporting a Field Reimbursement Team preferred.
- Experience managing a field-based team, with management of a field-based reimbursement team strongly preferred.
- Proven account management/client management experience, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare-related industry.
- Proven experience in direct communication with pharmaceutical clients or stakeholders.

Working Conditions
- General office demands – remote, work from home.
- Travel requirements: 60–80% travel (3–4 days per week) via automobile or plane; must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record/MVR.
- Physical requirements: Possible long periods of sitting and/or keyboard work.
Pay
Base pay range: $87,500 – $145,800. Total compensation may include additional elements such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities, determined by performance, experience, skills, equity, market evaluations, and geography.
