Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

About the role

C.H. Guenther & Son is seeking a Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to oversee EHS operations at our Prosperity, SC facility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Manage workplace safety training programs for employees at all levels.
• Oversee hazardous waste management, air emissions, and wastewater compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate safety into processes and projects.
• Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies.
• Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related regulatory inspections and inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant EHS regulations.
• Experience managing hazardous waste programs under RCRA.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
