Manager Emergency Services RN
About the role
The Manager assists the Director of Emergency Services with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient care services for the Emergency Department at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. The manager provides clinical oversight and support of assigned areas including quality improvement and quality assurance monitoring, provides clinical staff education and staff competency monitoring, supervises staff orientation as developed by the Director, provides follow up with Datix – adverse event monitoring tool, anticipates department staffing needs on a daily basis, edits payroll, regularly performs customer service rounds, and other operational activities as delegated.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical oversight and support of assigned areas including quality improvement and quality assurance monitoring
- Provides clinical staff education and staff competency monitoring
- Supervises staff orientation as developed by the Director
- Provides follow up with Datix – adverse event monitoring tool
- Anticipates department staffing needs on a daily basis
- Edits payroll
- Regularly performs customer service rounds
- Other operational activities as delegated
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, from an accredited educational institute, or in process and completed within 3 years of hire into position
- Washington Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: BLS - American Heart Association
- Upon hire: ACLS, PALS (must be AHA accredited)
- Upon hire: TNCC Instructor status, or ability to achieve
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or Business preferred
- Upon hire: BSN (for those without one already)
- 2 years experience in a supervisory or charge nurse capacity
Qualifications
- Experience in emergency, trauma, or critical care nursing
Skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
