About the role
Lead swing-shift operations (onsite) to maintain uptime and operational readiness across critical facility infrastructure. Manage, coach, and develop a team responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs. Oversee vendor performance and service contracts, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification. Drive projects from scope through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication. Promote rigorous processes, documentation, and continuous improvement across maintenance programs and operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of a critical facility supporting high-availability data center environments.
- Manage a process-driven team, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure mechanical and electrical infrastructure remains reliable, safe, and compliant.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs.
- Drive projects from scope through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
- Promote continuous improvement across maintenance programs and operating procedures.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical operations within critical facilities (data center, hospital, power plant preferred), including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial/industrial systems.
- Hands-on expertise with critical infrastructure such as chilled water systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, water treatment, VFDs/pumps, HVAC/CRAC/CRAH, humidification, BMS/PLC controls, generators and electrical distribution, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems.
- 3-5 years of people management experience with proven leadership in a process-driven environment.
- 3-5 years of vendor/service contract management and project management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, time tracking, scheduling, scope development, and contract oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), and ability to coordinate contractors while solving problems in real time (including after hours as needed).
Pay
$55/hr
