About the role

AWS is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead a team focused on increasing the reach of cloud computing across stakeholders in the Automotive and Manufacturing industry. You will drive market development for AWS by leveraging the AWS cloud computing platform to position and drive the right technology solutions, enabling the ecosystem and addressing changing industry needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Industry Specialists to drive AWS market and technical strategy for the Manufacturing and Automotive industry.
  • Define and execute a strategic market development plan aligned with AWS strategic direction, in partnership with key internal stakeholders (e.g., account management teams, service teams, legal, support).
  • Define and size segments, identify and engage key customers, and identify and engage key partners including Independent Software Vendors and System Integrators.
  • Build a business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and partners.
  • Understand customer technical requirements and work closely with internal development teams to guide product offerings for developers.
  • Present business reviews to senior management regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding AWS reach in the industry.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and liaise with the legal group.
  • Handle a high volume of engagements in the fast-paced cloud computing market.
  • Work closely with AWS Solutions Architects to develop and promote cloud patterns and solutions for the industry, including high-performance computing (design engineering) and partner-based solutions.
  • Enable AWS account management teams to drive day-to-day interactions with key prospects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures.
  • Knowledge of distribution networks and channel P&Ls.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, including C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures.
  • Experience negotiating VP-level contracts with channel partners and agencies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Senior Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing high-performance teams.

Pay

Base salary range:

  • USA, IL, Chicago: $193,700.00 - $262,000.00 USD annually
  • USA, MI, Detroit: $193,700.00 - $262,000.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
