About the role

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking a Manager IV to lead the end-to-end data collection and reporting process, coordinate stakeholder input, and develop and implement enhancements to TWC’s workforce development data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the data collection and reporting process, including metric definition and compilation, data visualization, report generation, and dashboard maintenance
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritize data analytics needs
  • Develop and implement long- and short-term goals for the department
  • Identify and recommend improvements to TWC’s data analytics tools and processes
  • Collaborate with other TWC divisions to collect and report key metrics
  • Motivate and develop staff, prepare budget requests, and monitor expenditures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Five years of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency, with one year and six months in an administrative management or supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of best practices in data analysis, relational databases, and data analytic software
  • Skills in supervising, coaching, and motivating staff, and creating new reports and research projects
  • Experience in coordinating and evaluating program activities, and implementing new ways for staff to work more effectively
  • Ability to communicate proactively with leadership, teams, and stakeholders, and identify and solve problems creatively

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
