The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Grant Administration Manager IV to join the Grant Administration department at 1117 Trinity Street, Austin, Texas. This position is open to Texas residents only.

About the Role

This role involves managing the daily operations and activities of the Grant Administration team, overseeing quality assurance of applications and grant award documents, and coordinating performance reviews. The ideal candidate should have experience in developing competitive applications and resulting grant awards, managing teams, and analyzing complex information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of staff in Grant Administration (GA).
  • Oversee quality assurance of applications and grant award documents.
  • Supervise GA teams and coordinate yearly performance reviews.
  • Review agency contracting system reports, GA self-audits, and address related issues.
  • Maintain cooperative and constructive work relationships.
  • Represent Grant Administration at business meetings.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Certified Texas Contract Developer and Certified Texas Contract Manager.
  • Experience in Texas state government related to the development of competitive applications and resulting grant awards.
  • Experience managing a team at a state or federal agency.
  • Experience in facilitation and customer service.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and address identified issues.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Qualifications

  • Five years of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency, with one year and six months in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
