About the role
The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the accounts payable department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. This role involves leading a team, implementing best practices, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the accounts payable team, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment disbursements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to accounts payable operations.
- Maintain accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for accounts payable.
- Manage vendor relationships, including resolving payment issues and negotiating terms.
- Cook up with other departments (e.g., purchasing, finance, accounting) to ensure proper workflow and communication.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics for management review.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.
- Prior supervisory or management experience in an accounting or finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, systems, and best practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of NetSuite is a PLUS.
