About the role

The Energy Providers practice at Guidehouse helps utilities and energy companies navigate rapid industry transformation. We assist in balancing initiatives against energy costs and customer affordability, leveraging emerging technologies to upgrade operations and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients
  • Leverage cutting-edge methodologies and tools
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to support project recommendations and solutions
  • Identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions that align with client goals
  • Prepare detailed, high-quality reports, presentations, and other documentation for client deliverables
  • Engage effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate solutions
  • Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a positive team environment
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through training, certifications, and staying updated on industry trends
  • Assist in project management tasks, such as scheduling meetings and tracking project timelines
  • Drive and demonstrate cultural values through exemplary leadership behavior, people-first approaches, and inclusive environments

Requirements

  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to nature of client engagements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a STEM discipline AND one (1+) plus years relevant post-graduation utilities work experience OR Master's degree in business, economics, or a STEM discipline AND relevant energy/utilities internships or co-op experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a STEM discipline AND three (3+) plus years relevant post-graduation utilities work experience OR Master's degree in business, economics, or a STEM discipline AND three (3+) plus years relevant post-graduation utilities work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity about the energy industry and a desire to make a tangible impact through consulting work
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work onsite in a core Guidehouse Office or Client Office location

Qualifications

  • Preference given to candidates residing within 50 miles of a core Guidehouse Office or Client Office location
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Grid modernization and/or transformation, Electric/Power Utilities technology integration or adoption, AI/ML Technology Modernization solutions, Utilities-related projects supporting Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations, Utilities infrastructure resilience, NERC CIP program support and/or management, Cybersecurity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to support business development by contributing to proposals, client pitches, and account growth strategies and developing client relationships
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data

  • Annual salary range: $68,000.00-$113,000.00
