About the role
The Management Analyst position is based at the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, VA. This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
- Analyzes administrative processes and/or office programs.
- Writes reports, letters, and other documents with recommendations for management programs, policies and activities.
- Affords assistance in the development of new or revised management systems or procedures to facilitate the operation of programs within established guidelines.
- Performs administrative and financial analysis; provides research, spreadsheet development, data collection, and analysis; prepares various recurring reports such as monthly, quarterly, cumulative semi-annual and cumulative annual reports.
- Provides day-to-day support in diverse program activities and projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
- A high school diploma; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language and excellent writing skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Maintains professional competence and specialized knowledge base by keeping abreast of emerging themes and best practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques in order to carry out studies and analyses of management functions or programs.
- Knowledge of substantive programs, goals, pertinent laws, and policies in order to analyze and assemble information.
- Intermediate knowledge of management and organizational techniques, systems and procedures to perform analytical studies.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Dataverse.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, automate processes, and implement workflow improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with experience supporting applications, data management, reporting, and process optimization.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
