Mammography Technologist I - Full Time

Summary

Functions as a delegated agent of the physician and practices under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Uses independent, professional, ethical judgement, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic medical procedures. Applies the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (“ALARA”) principle to minimize radiation exposure, using the lowest output power and minimal exposures when acquiring diagnostic imaging. Utilizes proper patient positioning, tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct techniques to promote patient comfort and prevent compromised data acquisition or musculoskeletal injury to the mammography technologist.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all equipment and current developments relating to mammographic imaging in accordance with ACR guidelines.
• Perform mammography examinations according to policy and protocol set by the American College of Radiology and the department.
• Follow productivity standards established by the department.
• Maintain proper quality control of the mammography program in accordance with ACR guidelines.
• Serve as a resource in mammography to radiologists.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of an ARRT‑accredited radiology program.
• Florida State license from the Department of Health.
• ARRT‑certified mammographer with digital/tomosynthesis experience, or obtain certification within three months of employment.
• Basic knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures involved with the operation of mammography equipment, human anatomy, proper patient positioning, and image processing methods.
• CPR certification, or obtain certification within three months of employment.

Pay

Full‑time position with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, payable in full after successfully completing the probationary period. A two‑year commitment is required for new employees.
