Mammography Technologist -Cross Training

About the role

Vail Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Mammography Tech Training Program. This is a hands-on, paid, on-the-job training opportunity designed to deepen your expertise in breast imaging and stereotactic breast biopsy.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe administration of radiation.
• Identify and review patient requisitions for consistency with clinical diagnosis and demographic information.
• Learn all Mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols, including procedures requiring contrast agents and sterile techniques.
• Conduct and document quality control to ensure equipment safety according to MQSA and ACR guidelines.
• Communicate and educate patients before, during, and after breast imaging procedures.
• Auxiliary in scheduling breast imaging appointments and coordinating exams for quality and continuity of patient care.
• Aid in managing workflow to complete assignments and ensure proper patient charges.
• Promote breast health education through organizational events.

Requirements

• One year of experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Enrolled in Mammography 3D Training program within 30 days preferred.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $34.05 - $47 USD
