A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist Trainee
- Trains with their preceptor to consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique
- Learns to prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies
- Learns to produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate
- Develops the ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
- Maintains patient-first focus and exhibits outstanding customer service skills
Requirements
- Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography
- If student, must be in your final semester of Radiologic Technology program
- An interest in training in mammography as an advanced modality
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
