About the role
The Mammography Technologist at St Joseph Hospital & Medical Center plays a crucial role in early breast cancer detection. This position requires expertise in mammographic imaging, patient positioning, quality control, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should possess current mammography certification, exceptional technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a compassionate demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Expertly operate mammography equipment and ensure patient comfort.
- Meticulously position patients and perform quality control checks.
- Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.
- Practice good sterile technique and follow infection control protocols.
- Accurately mark positions and orientations on mammography images.
- Ensure the correct information is on the Mammography Worksheet and properly scanned into PACS.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program.
- A minimum of five (5) years of imaging technologist experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience as a mammographer.
- Certified Medical Radiographer: AZ.
- Mammography Radiology Tech: AZ.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS).
