Maintenance Worker Supervisor NS-07

This position is located at Fort Sill Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Custodial. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation are eligible to apply.

About the role

This role involves planning the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a day-to-day, project-by-project, and longer-term basis. You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences based on general schedules, methods, and policies set by superiors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate resources (workers, equipment, facilities, and materials) for daily, weekly, and monthly projects.
• Set deadlines, priorities, and work sequences based on established schedules and policies.
• Investigate work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes.
• Implement corrective actions to resolve work problems.
• Determine training needs and arrange for training; set performance standards and conduct formal appraisals of subordinates.
• Perform tasks requiring knowledge of woodworking techniques, basic shop mathematics, and the use of hand/power tools and measuring devices.
• Apply standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques.
• Read and follow basic blueprints and sketches.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check and all pre-employment checks, including a Tier 1 background investigation with childcare checks and a health screening.
• May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• May be required to drive vehicles up to and including a 5-ton truck to move furniture and other items across the installation.
• Work requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling, and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions.
• May lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally heavier items with assistance.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of woodworking techniques and basic shop mathematics.
• Skilled in the use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades.
• Knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques.
• Ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. Overtime, Sunday premium pay, and other differentials may apply based on eligibility.
