Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Weyerhaeuser’s Dodson, LA Lumber mill is currently searching for a talented leader to fill our Maintenance Supervisor role to lead our Dry Side Maintenance Team. This role will report to the site Maintenance Manager.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will role model Weyerhaeuser’s core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion by working with other leaders and your team to create a positive environment with open, honest communication among associates.

Responsibilities

You will plan and lead the daily activities of a team of millwrights, electricians, and mechanics in the areas of safety, quality, and reliability focused maintenance practices.

• Leading team meetings & trainings
• Identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues
• Coordinating activities with production teams to maximize productivity and minimize cost
• Reducing waste while proactively addressing reliability concerns
• Proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner

Key Functions include planning, developing, managing, and providing effective leadership for the sawmill maintenance team, ensuring the safety of all associates, and utilizing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment
• Proven ability to lead a team to be accountable and meet department metrics and goals
• Work-related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
• Knowledgeable in the areas of hydraulics, air systems, mechanical drives, mechanical components, installation methods, troubleshooting and repair techniques and methods, welding, and basic industrial electrical

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field, Lumber Mill, specifically Dry Side, maintenance experience, and working knowledge of business and financial concepts.

• Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
• Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching and development
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs and internet skills

Benefits

Compensation for this role includes a salary range of $68,400-$122,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience, as well as eligibility for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay.

Retirement benefits include a 401k plan with a paid company match, and paid time off includes 3-weeks of paid vacation, eleven paid holidays per year, and paid parental leave.

Pay

This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and potential plan funding may range from zero to two times the target bonus.

This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule.
