Maintenance Technician I

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on EAS assets, facility equipment, and building systems as assigned.
  • Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, hardware, and general building repairs.
  • Assist Maintenance Technician II, Maintenance Technician III, and Maintenance Lead personnel with repairs, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Respond to routine maintenance work orders and communicate work status to the appropriate lead or manager.
  • Inspect equipment and facility conditions and report safety concerns, damage, or developing problems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts safely and in accordance with training.
  • Keep maintenance logs, work orders, and other assigned documentation current and orderly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, assigned tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicle.
  • Drive a company vehicle between EAS locations when assigned.
  • Follow all EAS safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Maintain flexibility with assigned duties and support other Facilities Department needs as directed.

Qualifications

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED required, or related maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience as determined by department management.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or facilities environment preferred.
  • Experience or exposure in the operation and repair of any of the following is considered a plus:
    • Fabrication machinery
    • Robotic machinery
    • Painting systems
    • Welding machines and leads
    • Refrigeration / HVAC
    • Electrical / Control systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics

Requirements/Special Skills

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn multiple maintenance trades.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and ask questions when work requirements are unclear.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate work order and maintenance documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels may be at or above 90 decibels.
  • Ability to perform work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts.
